Distinguishing what is fact from opinion is a major matter from what to work on first. This environmental crisis has been going on for a long time. Some would argue it’s been treated as a low priority issue by the government. These same people have argued for this matter to become more represented within the actual process of taking action.
Some perspectives on the matter revolve around ocean pollution. Attempting to analyze and manage different strategies or techniques in an attempt to evolve earth’s status. Many statements have been made on behalf of this matter, with a student stating, “We have to pay more attention to what we’re doing in our everyday lives, so we can improve the environment”. This statement was soon followed up by another WHS student, “There are some things we can do to improve the pollution rate. Some examples can be picking up trash on the beach or making sure we’re recycling properly”. Both of these students state that there needs to be a change in order to prevent pollution from developing further within our oceans.
Other concerns arise relating to different aspects of pollution. This includes concerns shared by another article, 3 Major Effects of Air Pollution on the Environment, about air pollution, “Air pollutants are substances that have direct impacts on our health and the ecosystem while greenhouse gasses damage the planet by warming it, which threatens the survival of all lives on it” (“3 Major Effects of Air Pollution on the Environment”). This perspective is another widely known concern throughout the world. A student’s input was made regarding the standing point in which air pollution has on earth, “Air pollution has been getting worse, and a reason for it is the car emissions gas that travel through our air and cause us to then breathe those toxins into our bodies”. There are many more sources that agree to this perspective on both stands.
Many people agree that our world is in a critical state, as far as our environmental health. Keeping in the loop as to what state we’re in as a whole can help tremendously. Even if the basic information is just telling you if the problem is improving or worsening over time. There have been many resources or solutions given, whether being small or large. The majority of people that have any concern over this topic have some idea as to what we can do to prevent this negative progression. Yet most of those people don’t take action themselves. Regardless of the many reasons why this may be so: too busy, not well informed enough to progress, etc.
Believing in the need to recover our planet’s health does not require you to construct your lifestyle around it. Although there are small habits that anyone can adjust. One person at a time can help to improve environmental health. It can start with something small daily, like disposing of waste properly. Perhaps an action for the community, this may include picking up litter on the side of the road. Regardless of what or how you do it, every small step is this a step towards the success of fulfilling your belief.
