When I was 4, my mom wanted to put me into dance where I met my best friend. A year later, I joined cheerleading with her for Wauconda Bulldogs. When I was little, until about 5th grade, it was just sort of a hobby, or something to do. I started doing tumbling lessons in Barrington in 2nd grade, where I got my roundoff back handspring. I switched gyms, to a gym in Mundelein. I have been going to this gym since 2018. These coaches are some of my favorite people, and helped me get to the point I am now in cheer. In cheerleading there are 6 levels of tumbling: 6 which is the highest, and 1 as the lowest. I am in a level 5 class working on twisting. Tumbling can make or break sometimes if you are going to make a team. As well as stunting. I was a base for stunting from kindergarten til the start of this school year. I was always a base, and now I am a flyer. A flyer is the person in the air doing tricks while the backspot and bases are underneath them. My stunt group is currently a backspot, who is a senior, main base a senior, and a secondary base a sophomore. We are working on low to highs and switch ups in main stunts. Low to high is a lib, which is where the flyer is standing on one leg in about chin level high. The bases throw them into the air, and the flyer switches legs. The bases catch them at above their height.
